3  It was ^aconferred upon me from the fathers; it came down from the fathers, from the beginning of time, yea, even from the beginning, or before the foundation of the earth, down to the present time, even the right of the firstborn, or the first man, who is Adam, or first father, through the fathers unto me.

  18  And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.

  14  Yea, humble yourselves even as the people in the days of ^aMelchizedek, who was also a high priest after this same order which I have spoken, who also took upon him the high priesthood forever.

  2  Why the first is called the Melchizedek Priesthood is because ^bMelchizedek was such a great high priest.

  29  And he called his name ^aNoah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord hath cursed.

  19  Now, there were ^amany before him, and also there were many afterwards, but none were greater; therefore, of him they have more particularly made mention.

  18  Yea, and behold I say unto you, that Abraham not only knew of these things, but there were ^amany before the days of Abraham who were called by the order of God; yea, even after the order of his Son; and this that it should be shown unto the people, a great many thousand years before his coming, that even redemption should come unto them.

  4  I sought for mine appointment unto the Priesthood according to the appointment of God unto the ^bfathers concerning the seed.
