Helaman 12:3  
 3 And thus we see that except the Lord doth achasten his people with many afflictions, yea, except he doth visit them with bdeath and with terror, and with famine and with all manner of pestilence, they will not cremember him.

  8  In the day of their peace they esteemed lightly my counsel; but, in the day of their atrouble, of necessity they feel after me.

  34  When he aslew them, then they sought him: and they returned and inquired early after God.

  6  And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not breturned unto me, saith the Lord.

  7  When my soul fainted within me I aremembered the Lord: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.

  17  Therefore, as they were unfaithful they did not prosper nor progress in their journey, but were driven back, and incurred the displeasure of God upon them; and therefore they were smitten with famine and sore afflictions, to stir them up in dremembrance of their duty.

  27  Therefore thou deliveredst them into the hand of their enemies, who bvexed them: and in the time of their trouble, when they cried unto thee, thou heardest them from heaven; and according to thy manifold mercies thou gavest them saviours, who saved them out of the hand of their enemies.

  5  Her adversaries are the chief, her enemies prosper; for the Lord hath aafflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions: her children are gone into captivity before the enemy.

  20  Behold, O Lord; for I am in distress: my bowels are troubled; mine heart is turned within me; for I have grievously brebelled: abroad the sword bereaveth, at home there is as death.

  17  That they may want bread and water, and be astonied one with another, and bconsume away for their iniquity.

  12  Therefore shall Zion for your asake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.
