1  Furthermore David the king said unto all the congregation, Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen, is yet ^ayoung and tender, and the work is great: for the palace is not for man, but for the Lord God.

  13  Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were ^aunlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

  27  But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

  8  And now I, Nephi, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, therefore I spake unto them, saying, yea, even unto Laman and unto Lemuel: Behold ye are mine elder brethren, and how is it that ye are so hard in your hearts, and so blind in your minds, that ye have need that I, your ^byounger brother, should speak unto you, yea, and set an example for you?

  13  Wherefore, I call upon the ^aweak things of the world, those who are unlearned and despised, to thresh the nations by the power of my Spirit;

  1  Verily, thus saith the Lord unto you, my servant Joseph Smith, I am well pleased with your offering and acknowledgments, which you have made; for unto this end have I raised you up, that I might show forth my wisdom through the ^cweak things of the earth.

  10  Take ^acounsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.

  6  For I will not ^atrust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.

  4  Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and ^atrust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders.

  5  Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh ^cflesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.
