10  If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.

  43  David also took Ahinoam of Jezreel; and they were also both of them his ^bwives.

  13  And David took him more concubines and ^awives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.

  3  And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.

  15  And now it came to pass that the people of Nephi, under the reign of the second king, began to grow hard in their hearts, and indulge themselves somewhat in wicked practices, such as like unto David of old desiring many ^awives and concubines, and also Solomon, his son.

  1  Verily, thus saith the Lord unto you my servant Joseph, that inasmuch as you have inquired of my hand to know and understand wherein I, the Lord, justified my servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as also Moses, David and Solomon, my servants, as touching the principle and doctrine of their having many ^awives and concubines—
