4  And if thou wilt walk before me, as ^bDavid thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:

  20  That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he ^bturn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

  3  And David sent and inquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bath-sheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of ^bUriah the Hittite?

  8  And rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it thee: and yet thou hast not been as my servant ^aDavid, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do that only which was right in mine eyes;

  39  David's wives and concubines were given unto him of me, by the hand of Nathan, my servant, and others of the prophets who had the keys of this power; and in none of these things did he sin against me save in the case of ^eUriah and his wife; and, therefore he hath fallen from his exaltation, and received his portion; and he shall not inherit them out of the world, for I gave them unto another, saith the Lord.
