18  Therefore shall ye lay up these my ^bwords in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.

  21  Go, inquire of the Lord for me, and for them that are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found: for great is the wrath of the Lord that is poured out upon us, because our fathers have not kept the word of the Lord, to do after all that is written in this ^abook.

  24  And I said unto them that it was the word of God; and whoso would hearken unto the word of God, and would hold fast unto it, they would never perish; neither could the temptations and the fiery darts of the adversary overpower them unto blindness, to lead them away to destruction.

  5  I say unto you, my sons, were it not for these things, which have been kept and preserved by the hand of God, that we might ^cread and understand of his mysteries, and have his commandments always before our eyes, that even our fathers would have dwindled in unbelief, and we should have been like unto our brethren, the Lamanites, who know nothing concerning these things, or even do not believe them when they are taught them, because of the traditions of their fathers, which are not correct.

  62  And again, verily I say unto you, my friends, I leave these ^bsayings with you to ponder in your hearts, with this commandment which I give unto you, that ye shall call upon me while I am near—

  46  And he said unto them, Set your ^ahearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.

  3  Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your ^chearts.
