19  I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: "they ^ddraw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof."

  31  And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their ^bmouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.

  1  Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the Lord, and make ^cmention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.

  8  This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and ^bhonoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

  13  Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is ^finiquity, even the solemn meeting.
