17  But I did remain among them, but I was forbidden to preach unto them, because of the hardness of their hearts; and because of the hardness of their hearts the land was cursed for their sake.

  28  Yea, it shall come in a day when the power of God shall be denied, and ^bchurches become defiled and be lifted up in the pride of their hearts; yea, even in a day when leaders of churches and teachers shall rise in the pride of their hearts, even to the envying of them who belong to their churches.

  3  For the time will come when they will not ^aendure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
