27  Neither did Manasseh ^adrive out the inhabitants of Beth-shean and her towns, nor Taanach and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Ibleam and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns: but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.

  55  But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be ^apricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.

  24  And there shall be no more a ^apricking brier unto the house of Israel, nor any grieving thorn of all that are round about them, that despised them; and they shall know that I am the Lord God.

  24  And if it so be that they rebel against me, they shall be a ^ascourge unto thy seed, to stir them up in the ways of remembrance.

  28  And they shall be a ^ascourge unto the people of this land. Nevertheless, when they shall have received the fulness of my gospel, then if they shall harden their hearts against me I will return their iniquities upon their own heads, saith the Father.

  21  And inasmuch as thy brethren shall rebel against thee, they shall be ^acut off from the presence of the Lord.
