1  Behold, I will send my ^bmessenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.

  10  For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my ^amessenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

  33  Ye sent unto ^aJohn, and he bare witness unto the truth.

  27  And I looked and beheld the Redeemer of the world, of whom my father had spoken; and I also beheld the ^bprophet who should prepare the way before him. And the Lamb of God went forth and was baptized of him; and after he was baptized, I beheld the heavens open, and the Holy Ghost come down out of heaven and abide upon him in the form of a dove.

  5  Behold, I will send you ^aElijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord;

  1  Behold, I will reveal unto you the Priesthood, by the hand of ^aElijah the prophet, before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.

  13  After this vision had closed, another great and glorious vision burst upon us; for ^bElijah the prophet, who was taken to heaven without tasting death, stood before us, and said:

  17  And again, in connection with this quotation I will give you a quotation from one of the prophets, who had his eye fixed on the restoration of the priesthood, the glories to be revealed in the last days, and in an especial manner this most glorious of all subjects belonging to the everlasting gospel, namely, the baptism for the dead; for Malachi says, last chapter, verses 5th and 6th: Behold, I will send you Elijah the ^bprophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
