1 Nephi 12:17  
 17 And the amists of darkness are the temptations of the devil, which bblindeth the eyes, and hardeneth the hearts of the children of men, and leadeth them away into cbroad roads, that they perish and are lost.

  17  These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the bmist of darkness is reserved for ever.

  23  And it came to pass that there arose a amist of darkness; yea, even an exceedingly great mist of darkness, insomuch that they who had commenced in the path did lose their way, that they wandered off and were lost.

  24  And I said unto them that it was the word of God; and whoso would hearken unto the word of God, and would hold fast unto it, they would never perish; neither could the temptations and the fiery darts of the adversary overpower them unto blindness, to lead them away to destruction.

  14  Enter not into the apath of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.

  24  Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will cseek to enter in, and shall not be able.
