Ether 9:34  
 34 And it came to pass that the people did follow the course of the beasts, and did devour the acarcasses of them which fell by the way, until they had devoured them all. Now when the people saw that they must bperish they began to crepent of their iniquities and cry unto the Lord.

  33  And the acarcases of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall fray them away.

  34  Ye cannot say, when ye are brought to that awful acrisis, that I will repent, that I will return to my God. Nay, ye cannot say this; for that same spirit which doth possess your bodies at the time that ye go out of this life, that same spirit will have power to possess your body in that eternal world.

  8  In the day of their peace they esteemed lightly my counsel; but, in the day of their trouble, of necessity they feel after me.
