1  And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.

  25  And he cried unto the Lord; and the Lord shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he ^bproved them,

  14  Therefore, be not afraid of your enemies, for I have decreed in my heart, saith the Lord, that I will ^bprove you in all things, whether you will abide in my covenant, even unto death, that you may be found worthy.

  4  Therefore, they must needs be chastened and tried, even as ^bAbraham, who was commanded to offer up his only son.

  55  And again, verily I say unto you, I command you again to build a house to my name, even in this place, that you may prove yourselves unto me that ye are faithful in all things whatsoever I command you, that I may bless you, and crown you with honor, immortality, and eternal life.

  25  And we will prove them herewith, to see if they will do all things whatsoever the Lord their God shall command them;
