36  Abraham was ^acommanded to offer his son Isaac; nevertheless, it was written: Thou shalt not kill. Abraham, however, did not refuse, and it was accounted unto him for righteousness.

  16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his ^eonly begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

  5  Behold, they believed in Christ and worshiped the Father in his name, and also we worship the Father in his name. And for this intent we keep the law of Moses, it pointing our souls to him; and for this cause it is sanctified unto us for righteousness, even as it was accounted unto Abraham in the wilderness to be obedient unto the commands of God in offering up his son Isaac, which is a similitude of God and his ^gOnly Begotten Son.

  18  And Gad came that day to David, and said unto him, Go up, rear an ^aaltar unto the Lord in the threshingfloor of Araunah the Jebusite.

  1  Then Solomon began to build the house of the Lord at Jerusalem in mount ^bMoriah, where the Lord appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.

  4  Therefore, they must needs be chastened and tried, even as ^bAbraham, who was commanded to offer up his only son.
