51  Convenient to the village of Manchester, Ontario county, New York, stands a ^ahill of considerable size, and the most elevated of any in the neighborhood. On the west side of this hill, not far from the top, under a stone of considerable size, lay the plates, deposited in a stone box. This stone was thick and rounding in the middle on the upper side, and thinner towards the edges, so that the middle part of it was visible above the ground, but the edge all around was covered with earth.

  5  Behold, this is wisdom in me; wherefore, marvel not, for the hour cometh that I will drink of the fruit of the vine with you on the earth, and with ^cMoroni, whom I have sent unto you to reveal the Book of Mormon, containing the fulness of my everlasting gospel, to whom I have committed the keys of the record of the stick of Ephraim;

  11  And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:

  6  And it shall come to pass that the Lord God shall bring forth unto you the words of a book, and they shall be the words of them which have slumbered.

  3  And after that you have obtained faith, and have seen them with your eyes, you shall testify of them, by the power of God;

  11  And also with Michael, or Adam, the father of all, the prince of all, the ancient of days;

  14  And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

  1  And after six days Jesus taketh ^aPeter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,

  12  And also with Peter, and James, and John, whom I have sent unto you, by whom I have ordained you and confirmed you to be apostles, and especial witnesses of my name, and bear the keys of your ministry and of the same things which I revealed unto them;

  3  The ^avoice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

  2  And I, Mormon, wrote an epistle unto the king of the Lamanites, and desired of him that he would grant unto us that we might gather together our people unto the land of ^bCumorah, by a hill which was called Cumorah, and there we could give them battle.

  16  Stand, therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, having on the breastplate of righteousness, and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, which I have sent mine ^gangels to commit unto you;

  66  Behold, that which you hear is as the ^avoice of one crying in the wilderness—in the wilderness, because you cannot see him—my voice, because my voice is Spirit; my Spirit is truth; truth abideth and hath no end; and if it be in you it shall abound.

  37  Therefore, marvel not at these things, for ye are not yet pure; ye can not yet bear my glory; but ye shall behold it if ye are faithful in keeping all my words that I have given you, from the days of Adam to Abraham, from Abraham to Moses, from Moses to Jesus and his apostles, and from Jesus and his apostles to Joseph Smith, whom I did call upon by mine ^cangels, my ministering servants, and by mine own voice out of the heavens, to bring forth my work;
