3  Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a ^asnare unto you.

  27  And Gideon made an ephod thereof, and put it in his city, even in Ophrah: and all Israel went thither a whoring after it: which thing became a ^bsnare unto Gideon, and to his house.

  29  For behold, the Lord hath said: I will not succor my people in the day of their transgression; but I will hedge up their ways that they prosper not; and their doings shall be as a stumbling block before them.
