17  He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was ^bsold for a servant:

  14  And it came to pass that my father, Lehi, also found upon the plates of brass a genealogy of his fathers; wherefore he knew that he was a descendant of Joseph; yea, even that Joseph who was the son of Jacob, who was ^fsold into Egypt, and who was preserved by the hand of the Lord, that he might preserve his father, Jacob, and all his household from perishing with famine.

  4  For behold, thou art the fruit of my loins; and I am a descendant of Joseph who was carried ^bcaptive into Egypt. And great were the covenants of the Lord which he made unto Joseph.

  3  And Aminadi was a descendant of Nephi, who was the son of Lehi, who came out of the land of Jerusalem, who was a descendant of Manasseh, who was the son of Joseph who was ^csold into Egypt by the hands of his brethren.

  1  And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and ^aPotiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither.
