1  And it came to pass after this, that ^aAbsalom the son of David had a fair sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her.

  14  Jair the son of Manasseh took all the country of Argob unto the coasts of ^bGeshuri and Maachathi; and called them after his own name, Bashan-havoth-jair, unto this day.

  32  And Absalom answered Joab, Behold, I sent unto thee, saying, Come hither, that I may send thee to the king, to say, Wherefore am I come from ^aGeshur? it had been good for me to have been there still: now therefore let me see the king's face; and if there be any iniquity in me, let him kill me.

  8  For thy servant vowed a vow while I abode at ^aGeshur in Syria, saying, If the Lord shall bring me again indeed to Jerusalem, then I will serve the Lord.

  37  But Absalom fled, and went to Talmai, the son of Ammihud, king of ^aGeshur. And David mourned for his son every day.
