1  Thus saith the Lord God, the Mighty One of Israel: Behold, I say unto you, my servant ^bEdward, that you are blessed, and your sins are forgiven you, and you are called to preach my gospel as with the voice of a trump;

  10  And again, I say unto you, that my servant ^aEdward Partridge shall stand in the office whereunto I have appointed him. And it shall come to pass, that if he transgress another shall be appointed in his stead. Even so. Amen.

  24  And now, as I spake concerning my servant Edward Partridge, this land is the land of his ^aresidence, and those whom he has appointed for his counselors; and also the land of the residence of him whom I have appointed to keep my storehouse;

  14  There remain hereafter, in the due time of the Lord, other ^abishops to be set apart unto the church, to minister even according to the first;

  6  These things shall be had on record, to be handed over unto the ^bbishop in Zion.

  69  Nevertheless a ^abishop must be chosen from the High Priesthood, unless he is a literal descendant of Aaron;

  1  Hearken unto me, saith the Lord your God, and I will speak unto my servant Edward Partridge, and give unto him directions; for it must needs be that he receive directions how to organize this people.

  7  And let my servant Edward Partridge stand in the office to which I have appointed him, and ^cdivide unto the saints their inheritance, even as I have commanded; and also those whom he has appointed to assist him.

  17  And whoso standeth in this mission is appointed to be a judge in Israel, like as it was in ancient days, to ^bdivide the lands of the heritage of God unto his children;

  7  And the duty of the ^abishop shall be made known by the commandments which have been given, and the voice of the conference.

  21  I therefore say unto you, I seal upon his head the office of a bishopric, like unto my ^aservant Edward Partridge, that he may receive the consecrations of mine house, that he may administer blessings upon the heads of the poor of my people, saith the Lord. Let no man despise my servant George, for he shall honor me.
