52  For they ^aconsidered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.

  5  And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness ^ccomprehended it not.

  8  Behold, great and marvelous are the works of the Lord. How unsearchable are the depths of the mysteries of him; and it is impossible that man should find out all his ways. And no man ^dknoweth of his ways save it be revealed unto him; wherefore, brethren, despise not the revelations of God.

  21  And now behold, my brethren, what natural man is there that knoweth these things? I say unto you, there is none that ^cknoweth these things, save it be the penitent.

  3  For he truly spake many great things unto them, which were hard to be ^aunderstood, save a man should inquire of the Lord; and they being hard in their hearts, therefore they did not look unto the Lord as they ought.

  4  And I would not that ye think that I ^aknow of myself—not of the temporal but of the spiritual, not of the carnal mind but of God.

  116  Neither is man capable to make them known, for they are only to be seen and ^cunderstood by the power of the Holy Spirit, which God bestows on those who love him, and purify themselves before him;

  12  Never did any passage of scripture come with more power to the heart of man than this did at this time to mine. It seemed to enter with great force into every feeling of my heart. I reflected on it again and again, knowing that if any person needed wisdom from God, I did; for how to act I did not know, and unless I could get more wisdom than I then had, I would never know; for the teachers of religion of the different sects ^cunderstood the same passages of scripture so differently as to destroy all confidence in settling the question by an appeal to the Bible.
