40  Wherefore, it came to pass that the devil tempted Adam, and he partook of the forbidden fruit and ^btransgressed the commandment, wherein he became subject to the will of the devil, because he yielded unto temptation.

  16  Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves ^aservants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

  11  And they that will harden their hearts, to them is given the lesser portion of the word until they know nothing concerning his mysteries; and then they are taken captive by the devil, and led by his will down to destruction. Now this is what is meant by the ^cchains of hell.
