24  That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty: that ye might ^bfear the Lord your God for ever.

  5  For thus saith the Lord—I, the Lord, am merciful and gracious unto those who ^bfear me, and delight to honor those who serve me in righteousness and in truth unto the end.

  4  For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may ^bserve other gods: so will the anger of the Lord be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.

  3  And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the Lord with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the Lord, and ^fserve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.

  2  Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God at the last day.

  19  And gave unto them commandments that they should love and ^bserve him, the only living and true God, and that he should be the only being whom they should worship.

  23  I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall ^bswear.

  1  Hearken and hear this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, or out of the waters of baptism, who ^cswear by the name of the Lord, and make mention of the God of Israel, yet they swear not in truth nor in righteousness.
